CS 0142 - Product Design with Machine Learning |
An introduction to machine learning concepts and vocabulary to facilitate the incorporation of machine learning [ML] and artificial intelligence [AI] into strategic planning, product, or service design, specification, and development. Course content will include an overview of ML and AI, a discussion of data and data sources, an intuitive description of both classical and deep network ML methods, an exploration of how to evaluate and improve ML-based systems, a review of ML hardware, and a discussion of risk factors and the impacts of AI/ML on project management practices. Participants will explore the design life cycle for a virtual AI/ML-based product or service, including problem specification, data collection and curation, selecting appropriate ML techniques, specifying and evaluating performance, choosing hardware, and planning for continuous improvement.
