The Relational Database is the core of our modern computer usage in nearly every industry and discipline. Effective data management can be the performance edge that can assist an organization in increasing productivity. This seminar will introduce students to the terminology of databases used in the contemporary organization. Writing basic Structured Query Language (SQL) statements to create/read/update/delete (CRUD) data in the database will lend practical skills to augment the theory of relational data organization. This seminar will also introduce the concepts of non-relational databases and NoSQL in contrast to the relational database model and demonstrate the benefits of using one type over another for when solving data problems.
